Join us at Index Greenpoint for a letter writing gathering for Peter “Pitt” Mukuria, an incarcerated community member and artistic collaborator of The Healing Project.

​Part of our advocacy work includes hosting letter writing gatherings for incarcerated community members, some of whom are among The Healing Project’s original aforementioned narrator cohort. Peter Mukuria is one such narrator. An artist and activist challenging prison conditions from a facility in Virginia, he has recently been transferred to a new prison without explanation, blocked from communications and caged in solitary confinement. As we seek to secure Peter legal representation, we are gathering to send him letters that express our encouragement and solidarity.
